Barnes, Daisy May was born 22 April 1897 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Richard Barnes and Lucy Ann Howes. She married George Thomas Williams 30 June 1928 in Adlestrop. She appears on the 1901 census for Adlestrop; 1911 for Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. She appears on the 1939 England and Wales Register for Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. As Daisy May Williams, she appears on the electoral rolls for 1931. She died in 1990 in Kingham, Oxfordshire.

She married William Painting 6 May 1911 in Adlestrop. As Ethel Victoria Painting, she appears on the electoral rolls for 1922-1939 and on the 1939 England and Wales Register. Barnes, Francis A. was born in 1926 in Adlestrop. Son of Leonard Arthur Barnes and Margaret Violet Tyler. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1947-1950 and on the 1939 England and Wales Register.
Barnes, Frank Henry was born c.1889 in Adlestrop. Son of Richard Barnes and Lucy Ann Howes. He appears on the 1891, 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. He was a farm labourer. He fought in France/Flanders during the Great War. Private 12121 of the 6th Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. He died 25 February 1916 in Flanders as a result of wounds sustained. He is commemorated on a marble plaque in St Mary Magdalene Church, Adlestrop.
Barnes, Hilda Gertrude was born 14 October 1894 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Richard Barnes and Lucy Ann Howes. She appears on the 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. She married William Henry Cairns in 1923 in Stow on the Wold. As Hilda Gertrude Cairns, she appears on the electoral rolls for 1930-1932; 1934-1939; 1947-1952; 1955-1961 and on the 1939 England and Wales Register. She lived at 17, Main Street. She died 30 November 1960, aged 66. She is buried in the graveyard at Adlestrop. See Photographs.
Barnes, Hubert D. married Mary M. Pierce in 1958 in Reading, Berkshire. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1959-1964. He lived at The Flats. He was Headmaster of the Grammar School in Henley-On-Thames. He taught at Adlestrop Park School from 1958. His diary of his time at Adlestrop has been published online, here.
Barnes, Leonard Arthur was born 21 May 1899 in Adlestrop. Son of Richard Barnes and Lucy Ann Howes. He married Margaret Violet Tyler 20 November 1920 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. He appears on the 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1921-1939, 1947-1952, 1955-1975, 1977-1978, 1980-1981 and on the 1939 England and Wales Register. He lived at Main Street, from 1970 at Pear Tree Cottage, 11 Main Street in 1980 and 3, New Road Cottage from 1981. He was a farm carter. [NB Leonard is listed as Leonora in the 1901 census, and female. I am fairly sure that this was in error!]

Barnes, Michael R. was born in 1936 in Adlestrop. Son of Leonard Arthur Barnes and Margaret Violet Tyler. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1957-1959 and on the 1939 England and Wales Register.
Barnes, Richard was born 4 May 1861 in Salford, Oxfordshire. Son of William Barnes and Mary Higley. He appears on the 1871 census for Little Tew, Oxfordshire; 1891, 1901 & 1911 for Adlestrop. He married Lucy Ann Howes in 1886 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1889-1892 and 1911-1939 and on the 1939 England and Wales Register. It appears that from 1893-1910 the Barnes family lived in a property owned by his Mother in Law, Sarah Howes (nee Newman), and so Richard would not have been entitled to vote during this period. He was a carter. He suffered from rheumatism in later life, and would walk with two sticks. He died in 1946 in North Cotswold, aged 85 years.
